Submission grappling is similar to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, in that a lot of the same positions, submissions, and techniques are used and developed. This program combines elements from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Folkstyle Wrestling, Freestyle Wrestling, Judo and Sambo. One major difference is there is no kimono or gi used during the training. Students will wear a t-shirt or rash guard with grappling/board shorts, which are designed not to tear during the training.
Submission grappling is sometimes referred to as: submission wrestling, sport grappling or No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu. This is a great addition to our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and striking program. American Top Team of Coconut Creek also offers an excellent beginner program for those just starting out. No experience necessary. Come see why we are considered the #1 grappling team in the state!
